After spending eight years in the National Football League, Keion Carpenter ended his career with the Atlanta Falcons. Growing up with an absentee father, Mr. Carpenter knows the struggle of being a fatherless athlete and uses his platform to address this epidemic that has ruined the family structure. After the birth of his firts child, Mr. Carpenter vowed to never allow his children to face the same obstacles. His goal is to help parents understand the pressure, confusion and miguided anger that is associated with being raised in a fatherless enviornment. There is no one way to raise your child, but Keion Carpenter hopes that his journey will give his readers a better understanding. About the Author
Nigel Ali was born in Baltimore, Maryland and is very passionate about expressing himself through writing. His first novel, "Dedicated 2 Bmore City" was an instant thriller, but Nigel Ali refuses to limit himself to one genre. His second book entitled, "Covered...The Fatherless Athlete" is a blueprint to help parents deal with the pain that a fatherless child endures. There are no boundaries for Nigel Ali and this is just the beginning.

Powerful Message of Hope!

This is a well written book that addresses the impact of the lack of fathers on the achievement and success of African American males. Mr. Ali uses the life of Keion Carpenter to share a compelling story of how a child and teenager navigates the challenges of life to eventually overcome all obstacles. The writer and Mr. Carpenter give us (the reader) hope for the future of people of color. I've read all of Mr. Ali's books and he doesn't disappoint. After reading this book, I purchased enough for a classroom and plan to buy more. If you're looking for an engaging testimony of grit and determination, and powerful story-telling then you've found the right book. These young men are changing the world! Kudos!
